Charlene Rapa

It’s not unusual for children to ‘play’ hairdressers. Chopping off the hair on their toys, or applying makeup with the hope of improving or altering the looks of their favourite plaything. It’s true that Charlene was one of those children. Though, this love affair with transforming the looks of her favourite toys continued into her teenage years when it became obvious that she had a true gift for restyling personalities by transforming their look.

Charlene’s dream of following this career came true when she was offered her apprenticeship at the internationally renowned “TONI & GUY” salon in Dubai. After several years learning under some of the very best within the industry, Charlene relocated to Australia with the love of her life, Charlie, where she went on to manage several industry leading studios throughout Sydney.

In 2012 Charlene and Charlie moved to Greater Springfield, where, along with their two boys they built their home. Charlene started a small referral only salon from her home while raising the boys, but in 2016 she recognised the need for a salon, like those she had trained in and managed, in the Greater Springfield area.

So in June of 2016 apaR (which is Charlene’s surname spelt backwards) Hair Studio opened in the newly completed Augusta Village centre. Modeled on the modern, fresh look of the best European studio’s apaR Hair Studio was created as a space where clients would feel immediately ‘at home’.

Currently Charlene is working on the launch of the second apaR Hair Studio location at Ripley, which is due to open in May 2018.

Charlene still thrives in helping her clients modernise their look whether it’s through a change of colour or an update in cut, she works with her clients to bring out their personality and update their appearance.

Offering her clients award winning local Diva coffee and utilising ethically created and sustainable Delorenzo products, Charlene and her team welcome you to experience how a trip to the hairdresser ‘should’ be.
